Hi I am Clara!

Welcome to The Cave

I graduated from OTSS here in Ottawa and have lived in the area most of my life. I really enjoy reading, writting and swimming. I am a big animal lover. Some of my favourite are owls, foxes, geckos and ravens.

When it comes to art a lot of my work involves my favourite characters. Such as the ones from Walking Dead and Resident Evil franchises. I'm a huge fan of anything from the horror genre and love the work of H.P. Lovecraft. I am fascinated by stories and really like making my own dark tales and short stories.

I've really enjoyed making board games recently and Terminus Chronicles and Escape From The Hive are some of my games with more to come! I have a large collection of figurines and plushies from many different shows, bands, movies and video games.

For me art is a great way to share my ideas and visualize a lot of my writing. I like to put my own twist on things that expire me and that shows in a lot of work. It's fun to create and see how others react to the dark and graphic themes in some of my work.

Violet Dating Show

My first project pairing animation and facial expressions with voice acting.

It started with an idea. How to put some of my favourite characters together in a funny way. After designing some new characters and using some of my older drawings I wrote a script.

I then took each character and made different expressions for each of them. Talking, closed mouth and eyebrows moving. After I looped each of them I had other members of The Space record their lines. The most challenging part was pairing the audio with the video loops. Was fun to add the music and see it all come together.

BOARD GAME: The Terminus Chronicles

This game is a turn bass survival game.

You can play as a cannibal hunting down others or a survivor trying to escape. Players roll the die and move 1 of 6 characters across the board.
Along the way weapons, items and good luck will help you survive. Two people or up to six people can play it.

This is my second board game and the largest. 8 pieces make up a large board and each player moves their character that matches a card with details about their abilities. I like horror themes and how the game plays out like a story because each time it's different. I was inspired by a certain episode of the Walking Dead and got to include some of other characters like Paige.

The Best Ice Cream In Ottawa

Know Your Pokémon: Groudon

Stella Luna is Ottawa’s best ice cream shop. Located at 1103 Bank St. in Old Ottawa South near Sunnyside, it is somewhere I’ve liked to go at least once a month.Not only is it a nice place but the ice cream is amazing. It sits well in your stomach and is similar to Dairy Queen but you feel much better after eating because it’s healthier for you. Next time you stop by make sure you try something new. If your not sure what you like then I suggest you try Stella’s Vanilla. It’s really good.Line ups are here with the warm weather. So you know its good. Make sure you get there early. They are open at 8:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM. Try it out!

Mexico Was Amazing!

This past winter I went to Cancun, Mexico with my family . I visited the Riviera Mayan. I was there for two weeks and got to see lots of animals and reptiles. It was awesome! I took the plane there and then took a car to Riviera Mayan. Part of the reason I went on this trip was because I wanted to go somewhere warm and wanted to see the iguana! It was a good trip. I went swimming everyday and iguanas were everywhere. I also went to see the flamingo and crocodiles where I took the photos above. It was also nice to see a lot of people there and all kinds of cool shops and places.

Walking the Dogs

My favourite activity all year round is going on walks with my dogs. At my mom's house I have two dogs. On the weekends we take them for a walk. It's fun and good exercise for both you and the dogs. I started going for walks after we got Hawkeye and Samba which are the names of our dogs.

If your someone who likes to excerice and getting outside it's a great activity because of all the nature you will see. There a lot of places around Ottawa to walk dogs. The coolest part is getting to hear owls. I think it was last sping when my Mom and I with Hawkeye and Samba want out for a walk where we heard this sound “Who cooks for you”. It sounded like a person but we knew it was from a barred owl.

A Quiet Place Downtown

When I think of a place I like to visit and spend my free time I think of the Chapter on Rideau St. That's at #47 downtown across from the mall. I really love to read and it's a nice quiet place. Not only that but it has a great selection of books even horror books too. It’s a huge store they have a starbucks and a huge selection for everyone if you like reading or coffee!

I go to chapters every time my dad has a meeting downtown.It depends how long the meeting is but I don't mind waiting at the bookstore. I don’t remember my first time going to chapters but it was many years ago.. It opened in 2002 so I’ve been going for 10 years at least . I look forward to my next visit!

Not Enough Claymore Merch

Every time I go to the store there isn’t much merch and items such as Claymore. I only see Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. Being a long time anime fan this is frustrating. Anyone who’s interested in anime and goes shopping will see alot of the same things for sale. If your like me this will Makes me feel flustered having to pick from the limited selection.

Stores should stock more comics with strong female leads so next time I go shopping and walk into a store I see better representation of people. I hope by reading my article you will notice the lack of variety next time you shop.

Figure

I collect action figures even custom ones and custom plushies. I find them at comic book stores, places like Ebgames and if I really want something and they don’t have it in stock I search on Etsy to have it made for me online!

I’m moving soon and I haven’t collected any in a while. Usually it depends on what figure is on the shelf and it depends which figures I like most at the timefrom my favourite show.

I keep them on my shelf because I like looking at them and keeping them to myself and I bring them with me to my mom’s house. It's like owning a part of my favourite show. It's good to surround yourself with things you like. One of my favourite figurines is my Walking Dead male figures. They are my favourite because I like having them around so I can keep close because they make me happyThey are my favourite because I like bad boys and these figures are bad boys. I like how much detail they have and that they are the exactly like the characters from the show.

Groudon is a massive, bipedal, dinosaur-like creature
covered in red, segmented plates of thick skin that act as armor. It has a gray underside and large white spikes that run along the sides of its head, body, and tail. It has four claws on each hand, four dozer-like blades on the end of its large tail, and three claws on each foot with grey markings under its feet. It also has blue stripes inside the seams of its armor plating which can only be seen when Groudon is glowing with power.

Groudon is an immensely powerful Pokémon, having the ability to summon intense droughts and cause volcanic eruptions. The droughts it can cause allow it to evaporate water, while the volcanic eruptions it can summon enable it to create land. It sleeps underground in large magma chambers. If it encounters its rival, Kyogre, they will engage in a cataclysmic battle. Groudon is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Precipice Blades.

THE BEST HAIR STYLES

Buns: Annie’s hair buns A.k.a honey comb! Why I like her hairstyle is because it looks interesting and the hair over her eye looks cool with her hair buns. Just the design of her hair buns with her hair over her eye is an interesting match. I see why people call her honeycomb because her hair looks like large honeycomb! And is also it is Beautiful.

Buns with Curly: Cure Lemonade’s conical buns and curls. Why I like hairstyle is because It looks interesting as well as Annie’s but with a long curling strand sticking out of the tip and ending at her waist.

Just the design of Cure lemonade’s hair is interesting. They look like wine corkscrew. Curly:Domino’s Curly hair. Why I like her hairstyle is because it looks nice on her.

Short: Priscilla’s razor-cut! Why I like her hairstyle is because I’ve seen only guys with that hairstyle. But now finally there is a girl with that hairstyle and I think it’s really beautiful on her.

Just the design makes it look even Beautiful and I don’t know why anyone would hate Priscilla’s razor-cut? It’s just odd/Dumb! >:(!!! Every time I look at Priscilla’s razor-cut I get so happy and jump up and down inside I just adore her Hairstyle very much it’s totally awesome! What makes it even better that she has a
totally awesome name to go with her totally awesome Beautiful razor-cut!! Ps: Priscilla McGee you are so awesome!!! X)

Day of the Dead In Mexico

This past October I went to Mexico City and also Puerto Vallarta in the country of Mexico. I got to be in Mexico for the day of the dead which is during our usual Halloween here in Canada. They call the festival Dia De los Muertos.

I was gone for 10 days and flew there on a plane. One of the best parts of my trip was getting to swim as it was still nice and warm. My biggest surprise was finding an anime store in Mexico. The only thing I didn’t like was having to wake up early sometimes.

The highlight of my trip was getting to climb up the pyramids.It was really cool to climb to the top and take pictures of the surrounding landscape. Teotihuacán is the name is an ancient city found in the Valley of Mexico where the pyramids are. It was build thousands of years ago. It is the first name of Mexico City and use to have large temples and palaces everywhere.

Swimming Inside Or Out.

I really love to go swimming. All year round I like to swim. Unfortunately it's way to cold to swim outside. I got a chance in Mexico to swim but I am looking forward to warm weather.

I mainly swim in my pool and the river. The river the has to be warm just like the pool. I first started swimming when I learned at the age of 6 or 7 during swimming lessons here in Ottawa at the St. Laurent pool.

To enjoy this hobby most you really need to be able to swim. I'm a good swimmer and that's one of the reasons I like to swim. It's also really fun to swim. At the same time its good exercise and makes you feel free.

Some interesting facts about swimming are Freedivers can hold their breath for more than 10 minutes.Most people can only hold their breath for a few seconds. However, people with proper training can hang on for at least two minutes. Then you have freedivers, who can hold their breath for up to 10 minutes (or more). The world record for breath-holding is 24 minutes and 3 seconds, which is currently held by Spanish freediver Aleix Segura Vendrell.
